How do Intelligent UBI Devices work in a one-time verification setting?

Drivers that opt into the insurer’s UBI program receive a device in the mail. The driver connects the device to the OBD port just under their steering wheel and leaves it connected for 3-6 months.

The device increases beeps and flashes to remind the driver to place it in the mail using the return envelope attached to the device. The insurer may use True Mileage UBI Discount Analytics or the analytics they already have in place to determine the discount for each vehicle.
