How are devices used for ongoing verification?

At least once per year someone, typically the driver, taps a smart phone to the device. After tapping the device, driving data will instantly be displayed on the user’s phone and stored on our server.

The technology that makes the tap possible is called NFC. Apple’s latest iPhones (XS, XS Max, XR and newer) and any recent Android phone are fully NFC capable. Even iPhone 7, 8, and X are NFC capable now after a quick NFC app download such as GoToTags. This means that essentially any recent smart phone can tap into the data on our Intelligent UBI Devices.
